Who pays us
- Lenders. When we introduce a borrower who takes a loan, the lender pays us a referral fee. The fee is paid by the lender from its own revenue; it is not added to your loan.
- Partner contractors. [Describe exactly what, if anything, partner contractors pay: program fees, per-job dealer fees on promotional offers, or nothing. Must match the contracted terms.]
What that affects
Which lenders are in our network. We only work with lenders who pay for introductions, so you won't see every lender in America, and a lender that doesn't work with us may offer you a better deal. We tell you that plainly because it's true of every marketplace.
What it doesn't affect
- The rate, fees or terms a lender offers you. Those come from the lender's underwriting.
- The order or prominence of lenders in your results. [Confirm with counsel and product: if ranking is ever influenced by compensation, this must say so.]
- Whether we'll tell you a lender's credit-check policy or disclosures. We show those the same way for every lender.
Why we publish this
Because you're making a financial decision and you deserve to know the incentives of everyone in the room, including us.
